All Holland Hurricanes clubs under the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) banner are in action this weekend, notably with seven of eight games at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement (MCCE) in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
When this weekend approaches, we’ll be well within the final month of regular-season competition across all ongoing ACAA sports, meaning the time to perform and peak is now.
Here’s what you need to know about each team in action and their current situations heading into Saturday, Feb. 7, and Sunday, Feb. 8.
Women’s Volleyball
The women’s volleyball Hurricanes have two weekends remaining on their regular-season calendar, with their final home-court game highlighting the upcoming one.
They will start on the road on Saturday, visiting the tied-for-fifth MSVU Mystics in Halifax, N.S., and return home to host the eighth-ranked USTA Dragons on Sunday at the MCCE.
Holland sits fourth with four games remaining in their campaign, with a 10-6 record (20 points), a two-game winning streak, and a 4-2 second-half record. They’re two points behind UNBSJ for third and four ahead of Dalhousie and MSVU for fourth. UNBSJ, Dalhousie, and MSVU each have one game in hand at 15 games played.
The Mystics went 2-3 in January and will host Holland to begin a three-game homestand. The two teams previously fought in a doubleheader at the MCCE on the weekend of Jan. 10-11, with the Hurricanes winning 3-1 and 3-0.
The Dragons are well out of the playoff picture with a 2-14 record and just one win in their last 14 games. However, they remain a team that could still play a factor in the postseason race, with any upset victory carrying major implications for opponents well within the hunt. Holland previously defeated USTA 3-0 on Nov. 15, 2025.

Men’s Volleyball
The men’s volleyball Hurricanes, set to close out their home portion of the regular season this weekend, aim to snap a standings deadlock and remain above the playoff cutline.
They have four games – two doubleheaders – left across the next two weekends before the postseason, and are amidst a four-point, three-team bubble for the final playoff spot. Holland and UNBSJ are tied for third, each with 8-8 records and 16 points, while Crandall is four points back at 6-10 and 12 points.
While the Hurricanes currently carry the most momentum, coming off a doubleheader sweep last weekend, the pressure will be on this weekend to maintain it, as the second-ranked USTA Dragons come to the MCCE on Saturday and Sunday.
The Dragons had a strong first half with eight wins across 10 games, but have since gone 3-3. After USTA swept Holland 3-0 across two matchups last November in Church Point, N.S., the Hurricanes look to turn the tables and claim redemption this weekend.
Game times are 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday. Watch live at . Join us on Sunday to help honour and thank this season’s senior players – Joey Horne, Connor Daniels, Liam Galway, and Nathan Baker.

Women’s Basketball
The women’s basketball Hurricanes return to home court this weekend following a one-week break.
While the Hurricanes remain hot and have already clinched a playoff spot, the focus for the new month is earning a bye into the postseason semifinals, which goes to the top two regular-season finishers.
With six games – three doubleheaders – over the next three weekends, and just a four-point gap between Holland and both second-ranked MSVU and fourth-ranked Mount Allison, this upcoming stretch could prove decisive.
MSVU is Holland’s next opponent, with the Mystics visiting the MCCE on Saturday and Sunday. The Hurricanes have one game in hand on the Mystics, who’ve lost just two games this season thus far and have won their last three. In the previous match between the two teams, Holland lost 71-55 to MSVU on Nov. 8, 2025, in Halifax, N.S.
This weekend will also feature a showdown in the player points game, with Holland’s Nykeva Brown and MSVU’s Victoria Strickland each chasing STU’s Charlee Connors for the most points. Connors has 197, while Brown carries 176, and Strickland has logged 166.

Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball Hurricanes will also host the MSVU Mystics at the MCCE this weekend after taking a week off.
Coming off a doubleheader that saw the Hurricanes earn their first back-to-back wins since last season, they’ll look to carry that momentum into three consecutive doubleheader weekends leading up to the postseason.
Although Holland (fourth, 5-7, 10 points) is out of reach of the top two and a semifinal bye, they sit in a stronger position than other teams within the playoff bubble, and could make noise for third if UNBSJ (8-4, 16 points) runs into trouble. That said, with differing games played per team across the conference, the Hurricanes are not entirely out of danger and will need to grab key points as the month progresses.
Crandall (4-8) is two points behind Holland, while UKC (2-10) and Mount Allison (2-11) are six points behind, tied for the sixth and final playoff spot.
It’ll be a big challenge to begin February, as the Hurricanes host the conference’s hottest team on Saturday and Sunday. After starting the season with back-to-back losses, the men’s Mystics have since won 11 matches in a row, including one against Holland on Nov. 8, 2025, in Halifax, N.S., 79-61.
The conference’s leading scorer will be in town – Isaiah Cromwell-Wright leads the way with 301 points. Zachary Dawkins and Spencer Rossiter are eighth (191) and ninth (187), respectively, and will look to not only close the gap but also outshine him and the rest of the Mystics’ powerful offense and disrupt their hot run.
Game times are 3 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Watch live at .
